MADISON – Wisconsin Women in Government (WWIG), a statewide, bipartisan, non-profit organization of women in government service, today, announced it is seeking professional women to join the WWIG Board of Directors for a two-year term beginning in August 2021.
“Wisconsin Women in Government is fortunate to be led by a group of talented, hardworking women, and we’re excited to be seeking new members to join our board of directors. These unique times present us with tremendous opportunity. We need creative, passionate women in government service now more than ever. If this describes you, we hope you’ll consider using your talents to support our organization,” said WWIG President Teresa Lueth.
The WWIG Board of Directors is a working board seeking women of diverse backgrounds who are willing to contribute their time and talents to support the organization’s fundraising, event planning, and outreach efforts. Women who work in government, those who work with government through a role in the private sector, and women with previous experience working with nonprofits are encouraged to apply. The Board of Directors typically meets six times per year at locations in the Madison and Milwaukee areas, with meetings currently being held virtually. We are specifically looking for candidates with the following skills:
  • Candidates who have previous experience with non-profit financials or as treasurer of a non-profit organization.
  • Candidates with strong communications skills, including experience drafting press, social media, and marketing materials, basic website maintenance, graphic design for digital and print mediums, and familiarity with Wisconsin media outlets. Experience with WordPress, ConstantContact, or similar platforms–or ability to learn–is a plus.
To apply, women should send their resume, two references, and a cover letter describing why they would like to join the WWIG Board of Directors by July 2, 2021, to [email protected]. Please include a description of your relevant experience and the specific skills you can contribute to the board.
