ICYMI: Ron Johnson Spends the Weekend Pushing Self-Serving, Dangerous Political Agenda, Not Working For Wisconsin

Madison, Wis. — Ron Johnson spent another weekend pushing his self-serving and dangerous political agenda, completely ignoring the most pressing issues facing Wisconsinites. During his latest right-wing media blitz, Johnson complained about the medical community encouraging people to get vaccinated against COVID-19, claimed the media and social media companies are “targeting” him, and again tried to cast doubt about the Capitol being breached on January 6th.

Check out some of Johnson’s most disturbing comments and the actual facts below:

Johnson: “It creeps me out that our health agencies are pushing the vaccine on everybody.”

RealityVaccines are working. “New COVID-19 cases are falling in 36 states. As of Monday, the average daily rate of new infections is 25,270. The seven-day average of new cases was last below 25,000 per day in mid-June 2020.”

Johnson: “They weren’t rioting…It doesn’t look like an armed insurrection when you have people that breach the Capitol, and I don’t condone it, but they’re staying within the roped lines in the Rotunda.”

Reality:

“Ron Johnson sounds more like a podcast host willing to say anything to get more listeners than a United States Senator,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Senate Communications Advisor Philip Shulman said. “Johnson is so desperate for attention, he is willing to say just about anything, even when that jeopardizes the wellness of the Badger state. Wisconsinites know Johnson isn’t serious about addressing the challenges they’re facing, and they are going to elect a Senator in 2022 who will stand up for them.”
