On Wednesday, a new report from ProPublica showed how Johnson changed the 2017 GOP Tax Scam bill to benefit his wealthiest donors to the tune of over $200 million. Johnson also personally benefited from the changes he was able to secure in the tax bill.

WQOW: Johnson Pushed for Tax Break Benefiting Megadonors: “The non profit investigative journalism organization ProPublica reported today that Johnson switched from being an opponent of the massive Trump tax cut bill to a supporter after getting more generous tax cuts that resulted in more than $75 million in tax savings for two of his largest donors in 2018 alone.”

The AP: Report: Johnson Pushed for Tax Break Benefitting Megadonors: “Republican U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin pushed for a tax break in 2017 resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars in deductions to megadonors who funded his campaigns, a report Wednesday from the nonprofit investigative journalism organization ProPublica found.” 

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: Ron Johnson defends pass-through tax provision as Democrats accuse him of doing the bidding of his top donors: “Johnson was on the defensive Wednesday after ProPublica reported on his efforts to get the so-called pass-through provision included in President Donald Trump’s signature 2017 tax legislation … Pacur LLC, the Oshkosh-based plastic company that Johnson helped found, was structured as a pass-through business. Johnson disclosed in his official statement of economic interest that he sold his interest in the business for between $5 million and $20 million in 2020.”
