ICYMI: Sen. Johnson on ‘Newsmax’: No One Should be Pressured, Coerced, or Fear Reprisal for Refusing Any Medical Treatment

WASHINGTON — On Tuesday, U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) appeared on Newsmax’s “National Report” to discuss how health agencies and the medical community are ignoring stories of adverse effects to the Covid vaccines and the importance of transparency from the government.  The senator has written to Dr. Francis Collins, Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Dr. Rochelle P. Walensky, Director of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and Dr. Janet Woodcock, Acting Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requesting information regarding the agencies’ efforts to monitor and effectively utilize reports of adverse reactions to COVID-19 vaccines.

The full interview can be found here, and excerpts are below.

“I was a big supporter of Operation Warp Speed. I acknowledge that more than 300 million doses have been administered, most of those without side effect, but I also don’t believe we should be in a state of denial. As I stated in my letter, if the medical community or our health agencies aren’t willing to even acknowledge the possibility that the vaccines may be causing some injuries, there is no hope in terms of acknowledging the root cause.”

“I acknowledge that the VAERS system is far from perfect — it does not establish causation — but it’s an early warning system and you ignore that warning at your own peril. So all I’ve been pressing for is transparency in government so that people have as much information as possible before they make that choice, and no one should be pressured, coerced, or fear reprisal for refusing any medical treatment, including the Covid vaccine, which, let’s face it, is not fully FDA approved — it’s under emergency use authorization. I also hope that the FDA does not rush final approval.”

On June 28, Senator Johnson held a press conference in Milwaukee with families from across the country who shared their experiences regarding adverse reactions to Covid-19 vaccines and how the medical community and federal health agencies have repeatedly ignored their concerns. Full video may be viewed here. Since the press conference Twitter has baselessly labeled videos of personal testimony as misleading, and Facebook has censored private support groups and individual posts.
