JANESVILLE, WISCONSIN—Congressman Bryan Steil (WI-01) released a statement following the release of President Biden’s $6 trillion budget, increasing federal spending to World War II levels.
“A budget requires reasonable, tough spending decisions. President Biden’s so-called budget isn’t a responsible budget at all. It is a massive new spending proposal that dramatically increases the size and scope of the federal government. Inefficient spending will further drive up costs for daily goods. Wisconsinites are already suffering the consequences of Biden’s out-of-touch economic policies at the gas pump and grocery store. This $6 trillion spending spree will make it even more difficult for Wisconsin families, workers, and seniors to recover from the pandemic and get our way of life back. Since being in Congress, I’ve sounded the alarm about the lasting impacts of Washington’s out-of-control spending. It is past time we get realistic about our spending. This budget fails the American people,” said Steil.
