MADISON —Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna), Assembly Majority Leader and Co-Chair of the Speaker’s Task Force on Racial Disparities, released the following statement regarding the announcement that Kalvin Barrett, a member of the Speaker’s Task Force on Racial Disparities, was appointed as Dane County Sherriff:
“Kalvin has been an indispensable member of the Speaker’s Task Force on Racial Disparities, providing our committee with a wealth of knowledge relating to the work and training of our state’s police officers. I am hopeful he will bring the same level-headed expertise and commitment to Dane County communities that he has brought to our Task Force discussions. I wish him all the best as he takes on this new role.”
