(Madison)…Senator Kathy Bernier (R-Chippewa Falls) was entrusted by her colleagues to chair the Senate Committee on Elections, Election Process Reform and Ethics. She spent her career as a county elections official and in the legislature she championed election integrity laws like Voter ID and a statewide voter registration database. The committee has held multiple hearings on election bills, and will continue to do so. Some have already been voted out of the committee and acted upon by the full Senate. Election law is complicated and getting it right takes time. Any perceived delays are due to crafting good policy. If that were something career politician Steve Nass ever attempted to do, he’d understand that.
