Madison…  Representative Patrick Snyder (Schofield) gave the following statement in response to Governor Tony Evers’ State of the State address:

“The COVID-19 pandemic has created a truly unprecedented state of our state. While I recognize these are trying times the unfortunate reality is that Governor Evers’ failed to take any responsibility for the failures of his administration during the pandemic – particularly the unemployment insurance backlog that left tens of thousands of families with uncertainty for months on end. It was my hope that the Governor would have learned from his previous mistakes but unfortunately his vaccine distribution plan has again left Wisconsinites uncertain and has left our state lagging behind.

I still believe that we can all work together to create a 2021 State Budget that responds to the needs of our state while continuing the prudent policies that have placed Wisconsin in a strong position to recover from the harm caused by COVID-19. I look forward to working with the Governor and all my legislative colleagues on rebuilding the Wisconsin economy and improving our State.”
