MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers delivered the Democratic Radio Address encouraging Wisconsinites to use every tool available to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Hello, Wisconsin. Governor Tony Evers here.

While it may be a new year, it’s important to remember that we are still fighting the same pandemic.

COVID-19 has not gone away, and in order for the vaccine to do its job in we have to keep working to stop the spread of the virus today.

In addition to washing your hands, wearing a mask, and staying home as much as possible, there are other tools in our toolbox we can use to help box in this virus right now.

Last month, we launched the WI Notification App. This app uses Bluetooth technology to anonymously tell folks if they have had contact with somebody who has tested positive for COVID-19.

It’s totally anonymous and you can opt-in by enabling it in the settings on your apple device or by downloading it on google play store.

The more people who use it the more successful it will be, so we are encouraging everyone to opt-in.

We also announced at-home testing kits that you can order online and have sent right to your door at no cost to you.

Anyone who needs a test in our state should get a test so learn more at dhs.wisconsin.gov/covid-19.

Let’s resolve to continue to do everything we can to protect the health and safety of our friends, neighbors, and families in 2021.

Thank you.
