Far right extremist Derrick Van Orden just announced he’s running again for Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District after voters already rejected his out-of-touch agenda.

Since his last failed candidacy, Van Orden has doubled down on his far-right bone fides by baselessly and dangerously casting doubt on the results of his own election and propagating the “Big Lie” which led to the insurrectionist mob attacking the U.S. Capitol on January 6th. Van Orden also proudly promoted his own participation in the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6th that killed a Capitol police officer.

Van Orden’s disastrous record also includes making anti-Semitic slights and touting his own history of sexual harassment and abuse of female military officers in his 2015 book.

“Wisconsinites have already rejected Derrick Van Orden’s extremist and divisive brand of politics, and his latest actions undermining the results of the election and marching side by side with Capitol insurrectionists have only further confirmed that he’s out of step with working families,” said DCCC spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional district deserves a fighter in Washington who is laser focused on delivering results for working people and leading us out of this pandemic, which is exactly why they’ll reject Van Orden’s extremism once again and re-elect Congressman Ron Kind next year.”
