The 2021 state GOP convention kicks off today at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Wisconsin Dells.
Today’s agenda includes afternoon trainings, a dinner sponsored by the Wisconsin Federation of Republican Women and featuring radio host Dan O’Donnell, and a reception sponsored by the Frederick Douglass Foundation. The convention website says the reception will feature activist Clarence Henderson, former Congressman and Texas Republican Party State Chairman Allen West and Maj Toure, the founder of Black Guns Matter.
On Saturday morning, attendees are slated to hear from U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Oshkosh; U.S. Rep. Mike Gallagher, R-Green Bay; and a panel of GOP legislative leaders.
Saturday’s afternoon session is scheduled to include the remainder of the GOP’s U.S. House delegation — U.S. Reps. Bryan Steil, R-Janesville; Glenn Grothman, R-Glenbeulah; Tom Tiffany, R-Minocqua; and Scott Fitzgerald, R-Juneau — as well as an election integrity panel with state Rep. Janel Brandtjen, R-Menomonee Falls, and Wisconsin Election Commission member Bob Spindell.
WisconsinEye is due to cover the convention live beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday.
