WisPolitics.com will stage the 2nd Annual Midwest Polling Summit online in October. The virtual event is sponsored by the Outrider Foundation and AARP Wisconsin. UW-Madison is an event partner.
The first session will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Central Time on Thursday Oct. 8, and the second virtual session will go live from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday Oct. 9.
Day 1 will feature a look at top election issues with Pew Research Center’s director of political research, Carroll Doherty. AARP pollster Amy Levin will talk about her swing state polling, including Wisconsin.
Day 2 will feature a panel of five looking at key elements of the presidential horse race in the Midwest and the country:
–Charles Franklin, director of the Marquette University Law School poll.
–Ray Block, associate professor in the Department of Political Science and Department of African American Studies at Penn State, and author of “Losing Power: African Americans and Racial Polarization in Tennessee Politics.”
–Emily Swanson, director of public opinion research for The Associated Press.
–Sarah Simmons, of Purple Strategies, a polling expert who helped various Republican campaigns.
–Barry Burden, director, UW-Madison Elections Research Center.
