State Senator Tom Tiffany won his race for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District yesterday, besting his Democrat opponent, Tricia Zunker.
“Wisconsin Right to Life is pleased with the outcome of the election and is excited to work with Senator Tiffany in Congress. He has been a champion for the life cause during his time in the state legislature and we know he will continue to protect the unborn as he serves in Congress,” shares Kristen Nupson, legislative director of Wisconsin Right to Life.
The special election in the 7th Congressional District was called after Congressman Sean Duffy announced his resignation. Congressman Duffy was outspokenly pro-life in both his personal life and in his capacity as a U.S. Representative.
Nupson shares,”Losing Duffy was bittersweet. His prioritization of his family and his new child perfectly encapsulates his pro-life philosophy, but we were sad that he could no longer represent Wisconsinites in Washington. We are thrilled, however, that Senator Tiffany is taking over. There is no one better to fill Duffy’s shoes, and we are confident that Congressman-elect Tiffany will represent the values of his district and our state by defending the defenseless.”
Tiffany will be expected to begin serving in Washington, D.C. as early as next week. He will face another election this fall.
