Madison…Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) delivers the latest GOP Weekly Radio Address focusing on our incredible veterans.

I’m Assembly Speaker Robin Vos.

Over the course of the last year we’ve had so many distractions with the surging coronavirus and the election, it’s important that we don’t forget to honor our veterans this week.

Wisconsin has more than 360,000 men and women who have served in the armed forces, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

In fact, eight of my GOP colleagues served their country in the armed forces before serving in the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Veterans Day serves as a reminder that we should thank our veterans every day for their sacrifice and service to our country. They protected our freedoms. Many put their lives on the line in wartime and all have watched over America’s peace.

I had the opportunity to personally thank several Racine County veterans this week when I delivered a legislative citation to the folks at the VFW Post in Burlington celebrating their 75th Anniversary.

I encourage you to reach out to a veteran to express your gratitude personally or perhaps post a kind message on social media, if you haven’t already done so.

No doubt we owe a debt of gratitude to our veterans. We can never repay them but we can respect and honor them at every opportunity we can.
