HAGER CITY, WI – Yesterday, Derrick Van Orden delivered remarks prior to President Trump’s speech in West Salem.

Derrick talked about the American Dream and why it is available to everyone willing to work for it. Derrick grew up in abject rural poverty with a single mom who taught him the value of hard work. He joined the Navy at 18 and served for 26 years, 21 of those as a SEAL.

After retiring from the military, Derrick and his wife returned to Wisconsin to open a small business and give back to the community.

Now, Derrick is a first time candidate who has been endorsed by national and local leaders including the President and Vice President of the United States and 13 sheriffs across the 3rd District representing more than 550,000 Wisconsinites. He is a political newcomer who is giving 23 year incumbent Ron Kind the toughest challenge of his career.
