The Department of Health and Human Services allotted $1.3 billion to health centers across the country during the COVID-19 pandemic. Five community health centers in Milwaukee will receive funding totaling more than $4 million. The community health centers receiving the funding include: Gerald I. Ignace Indian Health Center, Inc., Milwaukee Health Services, Inc., Outreach Community Health Centers, Inc., Progressive Community Health Centers, Inc., and Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers, Inc.

In response, Congresswoman Moore released the following statement:

“Our health centers play a critical role in tackling this pandemic by providing quality care to vulnerable Americans, who are being disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. These facilities need additional support to continue providing treatment, diagnoses, and preventative care for individuals with COVID-19, which is why I am so excited to announce that five health centers in Milwaukee will receive more than $4 million in funding. As this pandemic continues, I will keep championing health centers by working to ensure that their facilities and their selfless health care workers have the resources they need.”
