Washington, DC — Rep. Ron Kind released the following statement on reports that the Kremlin-backed Russian operatives hacked into multiple U.S. agencies–including the Departments of Treasury, Commerce, and Homeland Security:
“Russia’s egregious cyber-attack highlights the severe cyber vulnerabilities that we need to be addressing now. It is deeply troubling that the White House remains silent on the attacks. It underlines the need for the President to stop playing games and sign the bipartisan NDAA into law, which includes critical improvements to our cyber capabilities. All tools available must be utilized to deter further attacks and respond to this attack—including proportional offensive cyber responses and sanctions against Russia.”
