Murphy-Lopez has three times as many donors as Tranel

YUBA, WISCONSIN: New campaign finance reports filed on Wednesday evening showed Richland County Board Supervisor Shaun Murphy-Lopez outraised Representative Travis Tranel by 50% in the first half of 2020 in the race for State Assembly, District 49.

“I’m overwhelmed by the support we’ve received since I announced this campaign in early May,” said Murphy-Lopez. “We knew from the beginning we were the underdogs in this race, given the very large size of my opponent’s bank account. In this challenging economy, small donors have stepped forward to give what they can afford. This illustrates the power of cooperation, when many people come together as one.”

Murphy-Lopez received donations from three times as many donors in May and June, compared to the number of donors who gave to Tranel between January and June (the required time period for campaign finance reports). The average size donation to Murphy-Lopez was $75, in contrast to $175 for Tranel.

“Our growing campaign is fueled by small donors. We’re not afraid of hard work and promise to be careful with every dollar we spend. We still have a long way to go but aren’t going to stop until we get the job done.”

“Let’s vote for change on Election Day, so we can start leveling the playing field for everyday working people, farmers, and small business owners. I will be your voice for change.”
