The state Senate today unanimously confirmed Gov. Tony Evers’ picks to lead the Department of Workforce Development and to head the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority.

Caleb Frostman at DWD and Joaquin Altoro at WHEDA cleared the chamber unanimously.

There was no debate on Frostman, a former Dem senator who lost reelection in 2018, prior to the vote. He becomes the seventh member of Evers’ cabinet to be confirmed, along with the guv’s pick for the PSC and Altoro at WHEDA.

In November, the Senate rejected the nomination of Brad Pfaff to the DATCP secretary. Meanwhile, DSPS Secretary Dawn Crim has yet to receive a committee vote. The rest of Evers’ cabinet has cleared Senate committees comfortably, but have yet to be brought to the floor for a vote, including: Emilie Amundson, Children and Families; Preston Cole, Natural Resources; Sara Meaney, Tourism; Andrea Palm, Health Services; and Craig Thompson, Transportation.
