Madison, WI…Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) released the following statement after Senator Jennifer Shilling announced her retirement from the Wisconsin State Legislature.
“It saddens me to hear that Senator Shilling is leaving the Wisconsin State Legislature. While we have countless policy differences, I have a ton of respect for Jen and her efforts to make Wisconsin a better place. I have enjoyed debating the issues with her over the years; we often joked that we could give the other person’s speech at public events. In politics these days, it’s not often that you can call someone who supports the wrong side of almost every issue, a friend.
“After two decades of public service, the legislature’s loss is her family’s gain. I want to wish the very best to Jen, her husband Chris and their two boys.”
