MADISON – Representative Oldenburg (R-Viroqua) has authored a bill that will allow sportsmen to cross railroads in order to access their favored hunting and fishing locations with ease.

“Out here in Southwestern Wisconsin people enjoy outdoor pastimes like fishing, trapping and hunting” said Rep. Oldenburg. “This bill is a common sense fix that will allow hunters, anglers, and trappers to safely cross railroads where they need to rather than at specific spots that are far away from each other.”

While several Representatives and Senators have co-sponsored this legislation, Representative Pronschinske, Representative Oldenburg, and Senator Bernier are the bills primary authors. Representative Oldenburg was eager to introduce this legislation with his colleagues after several one-on-one conversations with constituents about the demand for this change.
