La Crosse, WI— Today, the nonpartisan Lugar Center released their annual rankings of the most independent members of the House. The Lugar Center found that in the first year of the 116th Congress, Rep. Ron Kind ranked 7th in bipartisanship out of all 435 members; 2nd amongst all Democrats; and 1st in the Wisconsin Delegation.

“Whether it’s been in person, on the phone, or more recently on Zoom, one thing I constantly hear from Wisconsinites is that they are fed up with the dysfunction, partisanship, and division in our government. And I couldn’t agree more, which is why I work hard to bridge the gap between Democrats and Republicans on issues like health care, trade, agriculture, and veterans,” said Rep. Ron Kind. “I hope now more than ever, my colleagues on both sides of the aisle put party politics aside because we are only going to get through this crisis by rolling up our sleeves and working together.”

Earlier this year, the nonpartisan website GovTrack also found Rep. Kind to be a bipartisan leader in Congress. In particular, it found that Rep. Kind introduced the 2nd highest number of bills with bipartisan cosponsors and had the 7th highest number of bills signed into law. Those scores can be found here.
