Washington, DC —Today, Rep. Ron Kind announced that the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and the Southwestern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (SWWRPC) were selected to receive a highly competitive federal grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA). This EDA investment will fund the Innovation Driving Entrepreneurship Accelerator, or IDEA Hub, of Southwestern Wisconsin and harness the innovation, science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) capacity of UW-Platteville and the strong regional economic development network of SWWRPC to strengthen scalable technology entrepreneurship across the region and support rural communities.

UW-Platteville and SWWRPC were one of 52 awardees out of the nearly 600 applicants.
