Madison – State Representative Janel Brandtjen (R- Menomonee Falls) issued the following statement regarding double voting in Wisconsin:

“The Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) has voted to refer cases of double voting to district attorneys in 19 counties. WEC has acknowledged that they will take the information obtained from Wisconsin’s Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC) report and refer the double voting incidences to the district attorneys. We should all be concerned with people double voting and the preserving the integrity of our elections. When someone double votes, it cancels out an honest and legal vote. Last month, a bill authored by Senator Kathy Bernier and myself (AB 897) would codify that practice to occur after every general election. The bill passed the Assembly and is waiting for action in the Senate. Meanwhile, the recent action by WEC deserves to be congratulated.”

Rep. Brandtjen is committed to moving Wisconsin forward through conservative principles and free market job creation.
