New TV ads in the La Crosse/Eau Claire and Green Bay markets will air alleging the Trump administration COVID-19 response failed to protect at-risk Americans from getting infected or dying.
Protect Our Care said the ads are part of a $2 million campaign in Wisconsin, Arizona and Michigan. A spokesman for the organization didn’t say how much of the money was being spent in the state, though he said it was a six-figure number.
The first ad, “Left Behind,” features nurse Tarik Khan saying Trump had a duty to protect older adults and he failed. The second features Dr. Risha Khetarpal slamming the president for ignoring advice from his public health officials.
Both spots are targeted towards audiences aged 50 and over.
“President Trump’s botched coronavirus response has been catastrophic for America, particularly for seniors who are dying unnecessarily as a result of his administration’s failures,” said POC-Wisconsin Director Joe Zepecki in a statement.
