MADISON, Wis. (Sept. 22, 2020) — The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, today endorsed Scott Fitzgerald for election to the United States House of Representatives to represent Wisconsin’s 5th Congressional District.

“Scott Fitzgerald has been one of small businesses’ strongest and most effective allies in the Wisconsin state Legislature,” said Bill G. Smith, NFIB’s Wisconsin State Director. “He has been a leading advocate on several issues important to small businesses, including regulatory reform, Right-to-Work, legal reform, and prevailing wage repeal. He is a five-time recipient of NFIB’s prestigious Guardian of Small Business Award, and we are confident he will continue to be a staunch supporter of small businesses in Congress. On behalf of small businesses in Wisconsin’s 5th Congressional District, we are proud to endorse Scott Fitzgerald for election to the United States House of Representatives today.”

First elected to the Wisconsin state Senate in 1994, Fitzgerald is the Wisconsin Senate Majority Leader and a United States Army veteran.

“Scott Fitzgerald will be a welcomed voice for small businesses in Congress,” said NFIB National Political Director Sharon Sussin. “Since 2012, Fitzgerald has earned a 100% NFIB voting record, proving his willingness to stand up for the issues small businesses care about. We are pleased to endorse Scott Fitzgerald today, and we look forward to continuing to work with him in Congress.”

Scott Fitzgerald’s endorsement today comes from NFIB FedPAC, the organization’s political action committee. NFIB FedPAC is funded by NFIB member donations above membership dues. Decisions made by NFIB FedPAC are managed by a member-driven grassroots evaluation process. Small business owners are influential in their communities and NFIB members in Wisconsin will work hard to elect Scott Fitzgerald to Congress.
