HAGER CITY, WI – Yesterday, retired Navy SEAL and Congressional candidate Derrick Van Orden was appointed as an advisor to the Faith Based Veterans Service Alliance (FBVSA).

The FBVSA is a coalition of like-minded, faith-based, veteran service organizations standing together on a unified front to present to the White House, Congress, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense, and our nation’s people that faith-based programs are proving successful in offering real, lasting change to struggling, active-duty military service members and veterans who have lost hope in regular treatment options.

In response to his appointment, Van Orden released the following statement:

“It is incredibly humbling to be appointed to this amazing group. Bringing proven, faith-based modalities back into the forefront for the treatment of our veterans is long overdue. President Trump correctly reversed the policies of the previous administration because he recognized that these groups have been remarkably successful in bringing peace to our troubled veterans and their families. I am proud to stand with them, and him, in this initiative.”

Van Orden also serves on the board of directors for The Rosie Network and Holy Joe’s Cafe, two programs that support veterans and active-duty service members.
