River Hills – State Senator Alberta Darling issued the following statement after
the results of the November 3rd election.

“I want to thank the people of the 8th Senate District for continuing to support
me. We withstood hundreds of thousands of out-of-state dollars trying to buy a
false narrative against us. Voters today made it clear this district doesn’t belong
to big money donors in California or Illinois. It belongs to the people of Southeast
Wisconsin. I promise to continue listening to my constituents and will work to
continue delivering results for you.

We have accomplished a lot and have made progress on real reforms that lowered
the cost of health care, made sure cancer patients got the drugs they need, and
got drunk drivers off our roads.

While Co-chair of the Joint Committee on Finance, we have saved $8 billion in
taxes, stopped another billion in tax hikes by the governor, and made sure
schools are funded at historic levels. Our state is in much better shape to make it
out of the pandemic because we worked to make the Rainy-Day Fund double
what it once was.

But I am not finished. I will work to lower taxes and raise standards for our
children’s education. I will continue to fight to make our roads safer from drunk
drivers and take on insurance companies to keep health care costs low. I will
make sure we get our economy back on track and do everything we can to keep
people safe during these tough times.”
