MADISON, WI — Clean Wisconsin sends Sen. Mark Miller (D-Monona) sincere congratulations and well wishes after the lawmaker announced his retirement from the Wisconsin State Senate Tuesday.
Amber Meyer Smith, Clean Wisconsin’s Vice President of Programs and Government Relations, had this to say:
“Sen. Miller has been a true champion on environmental issues during his distinguished career in the Wisconsin State Senate and Assembly. Sen. Miller has shown a deep commitment to the environmental values of this state and his district, from his care for Wisconsin’s waters and determination that everyone has access to clean water, to his concern for climate change and leadership on clean energy issues.
“Sen. Miller has been an important leader in some of Wisconsin’s landmark environmental policies like the Great Lakes Compact and the E-recycling laws. In many ways, his concern for environmental protection, public health, and quality of life for all Wisconsin residents have led to important policies that have made Wisconsin a better place to live, work and play.
“Sen. Miller exemplifies what it means to be a public servant. We wish him well in his much deserved retirement.”
