Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett are among the Wisconsin officials who will serve as officers at next month’s virtual national convention.

The honorary chairs of the convention will be House Speaker Nancy Pelois, D-Calif., and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer, D-N.Y. Meanwhile, U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., will be the permanent convention chair.

Barrett will be one of the six permanent co-chairs, Barnes one of the eight vice chairs and Moore the sergeant-at-arms.

DNC Secretary Jason Rae, of Milwaukee, will serve as secretary of the convention.

The party also released a schedule for the convention, which will largely be conducted virtually. Presumptive nominee Joe Biden will speak Aug. 20 while his running mate will address the convention Aug. 19.

The virtual roll call of states will be Aug. 18, while the party plans a slate of speakers on Aug. 17.

The party plans two hours of programming each night with councils and caucuses meeting during the day.

The proposed schedule and the officers have been submitted to the Democratic National Convention Committee Rules Committee, which is expected to approve them at a meeting today.
