The American Conservative Union is set to host an in-person event in Green Bay on the eve of the Dem National Convention seeking to “tell Wisconsinites that the socialist, anti-American platform of the Democratic Party can not and will not win in November.”

The group, which organizes the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, has scheduled the event for Aug. 14, just three days before a heavily scaled-backed DNC is set to kick off in Milwaukee.

Featured guests included U.S. Rep Mike Gallagher, R-Green Bay, former Gov. Scott Walker and Rebecca Kleefisch, the former lieutenant governor who is eying a run against Gov. Tony Evers in 2022.

Organizers say the event, dubbed CPAC Wisconsin, will be underlined by an “America vs. Socialism” theme and include organizing and activism training. In purchasing tickets, attendees will be required to agree to a coronavirus liability waiver and “choose to accept the risk of contracting COVID-19 for myself and/or my children in order to attend ACU events.”
