Elections Commission deadlocks in voter case after appeals court stays lawsuit

The Wisconsin Elections Commission in a contentious meeting Tuesday deadlocked on a proposal to resend a mailing to voters who may have moved. At one point, GOP appointee Bob Spindell said it was “disgusting” that Dem members refused to go along with his motion to move quickly to deactivate potential voters, while Dem Mark Thomsen accused his GOP counterparts of losing their nerve in the face of a lawsuit. Priorities USA announces $5.8 million Wisconsin TV buy starting Feb. 25

The liberal group Priorities USA announced today it will begin a $5.8 million buy on Wisconsin TV starting Feb. 25 along with millions more in digital ads as part of its effort opposing President Trump. Wisconsin Outreach Director Cassidy Geoghegan said the market breakdown in Wisconsin includes: $3.4 million in Milwaukee, $1.8 million in Green Bay and $640,000 in the La Crosse/Eau Claire market.
