MADISON – Wisconsin Health Care Association and Wisconsin Center for Assisted Living’s (WHCA/WiCAL) member facilities from across Wisconsin will celebrate National Assisted Living Week from September 8-14.

In observance of National Assisted Living Week, Community-Based Residential Facilities, Residential Care Apartment Complexes and Adult Family Homes of all sizes will hold a series of events developed as a special opportunity to bring together residents, families, employees, volunteers, and surrounding communities to celebrate “A Spark of Creativity.”

“A Spark of Creativity” is this year’s theme for National Assisted Living Week, which hopes to inspire residents to tap into their creative side, whether through the arts or beyond. The theme is meant to encourage assisted living staff to explore new, innovative ways to deliver high-quality, person-centered care.

“Caregivers and staff at Wisconsin’s assisted living facilities build unbreakable bonds with their residents and cultivate a sense of family and community,” said John Vander Meer, President and CEO of WHCA/WiCAL. “National Assisted Living Week is a great opportunity for caregivers, residents, families, and community members to explore new and creative ways to strengthen those connections and grow as a community.”

National Assisted Living Week is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Center for Assisted Living. For more information on National Assisted Living Week, please visit www.nalw.org.
