MADISON — John Vander Meer, President & CEO of the Wisconsin Health Care Association and the Wisconsin Center for Assisted Living (WHCA/WiCAL), today issued the following statement regarding Governor Tony Evers’ issuance of an Executive Order creating a Caregiver Taskforce:
“The Wisconsin Health Care Association and the Wisconsin Center for Assisted Living (WHCA/WiCAL) are pleased to voice our support for Gov. Tony Evers’ creation of the state’s Caregiver Taskforce. Wisconsin’s long-term care provider community is committed to working with the Evers Administration and members of both parties to address the state’s long-term care workforce crisis.
As we work collaboratively to ensure that Wisconsin’s frail elderly and disabled citizens in assisted living and skilled nursing facilities receive the quality care they need and deserve, it is critical that providers have the resources they need to recruit, train, and retain the workforce necessary to meet the Badger State’s aging population.”
