WASHINGTON — Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and Sen. Gary C. Peters (D-Mich.), chairman and ranking member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, announced the committee will hold a hearing on Thursday, April 4, 2019, titled “Unprecedented Migration at the U.S. Southern Border: By the Numbers.” The hearing will examine the current migration challenges at the U.S. southern border, the policies that influence migration flows, and potential solutions. The witnesses are noted below and will address U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP’s) latest apprehension numbers and offer their perspectives on the current challenges compared to prior trends.
