WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) issued the following statement Thursday after voting for the government funding bill:

“I continue to be amazed at the dysfunction of Washington D.C. I primarily voted for this bill to move us past the current appropriation impasse and avoid another shutdown. We must now devote our energy to a thorough and thoughtful process that addresses the complex problems of border security and both legal and illegal immigration. I look forward to working with the administration and colleagues on both sides of the aisle to accurately define the problems and find effective solutions.”
