MILWAUKEE- Danielle Shelton, candidate for Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge in Branch 40, today announced the endorsement of Congresswoman Gwen Moore.

“I am very proud to announce my endorsement of Danielle Shelton to be Milwaukee County’s next Circuit Court Judge,” said Congresswoman Moore. “Danielle would be only the third African-American woman to serve as a county judge in Wisconsin, and we will all benefit from her diverse experience and limitless passion for justice. We need strong, relentless leaders behind the bench, and Danielle is such a leader.”

“I am honored and humbled to have the support of Congresswoman Gwen Moore, a champion for our community,” said Danielle Shelton. “For decades, she has been a fierce advocate for justice and equality, and I’m grateful to have her trust. I’ve dedicated my career to protecting the rights of our community’s most vulnerable citizens, and I will continue to bring the same passion to the bench. Together, we will make our judicial system one that works for everyone, and treats everyone equally, rather than privileging the powerful. Thank you, Congresswoman Moore.”

Danielle Shelton grew up primarily on the North side of Milwaukee, attended public schools, earned a bachelor’s degree from UW-Milwaukee, and received her law degree from Marquette University Law School. Danielle also served in the U.S. Army for six years, first as an enlisted PFC, and then becoming a commissioned officer through ROTC.

After college, Danielle earned her Series 7 and 63 licenses and worked in the financial industry for many years. During law school at Marquette University, she worked in the Mediation Clinic with former Supreme Court Justice Janine Geske.
