(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman Glenn Grothman (R-Glenbeulah) today released the following statement on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report to the Department of Justice:

“After two years, $25 million dollars and several charges unrelated to President Trump, Special Counsel Robert Mueller has finally released his report to the Department of Justice.” Said Grothman. I have always felt that these collusion charges were completely unfounded, and the key takeaway of Mueller’s non-partisan report being ‘President Trump did not collude with Russia in the 2016 election’ confirms that. It is unfortunate that it took so long to reach this obvious conclusion.

Now, there is only one thing left to do, which is release the report to the public. Earlier this month, Congress passed a resolution stating that the report should be made public. I voted for this resolution because I believe that if we have more transparency, it is always good for the American people.

Now that we are well into President Trump’s third year in office, I hope that my Democrat colleagues and the media will trust Special Counsel Mueller’s independent investigation and lay this matter to rest.

Under the leadership of President Trump and a Republican Congress, our country has seen massive economic growth, record-low unemployment, wage increases for everyday Americans, increased access to career and technical education and great improvements to the VA. When I talk to the citizens of Wisconsin, these are the issues I hear about.

I hope that that national conversation will shift toward the real issues like patient-centered health care solutions, immigration reform, welfare reform and taking bold steps to improve the lives of all Americans.”
