The Honorable Tony Evers Governor-Elect Tommy G. Thompson Center 201 W. Washington Avenue Madison, Wisconsin 53703

Dear Governor-Elect Evers,

On behalf of Wisconsin Assembly Republicans, I would like to invite you to speak directly to our members during a caucus meeting in the days following the inauguration. While we have distinct policy

differences, we can agree that common ground must be found to move our state forward during this time of divided government. This opportunity would be a positive way to begin the 104th legislative session in Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin State Assembly has a history of working in a bipartisan fashion. There have been six bipartisan Speaker’s task forces that addressed important issues facing our state. During the 2017-2018 legislative session more than 90 percent of the new laws were approved with bipartisan support. In addition, several pieces of legislation like the contentious juvenile justice reform bill received a unanimous vote. There is no reason why we can’t find policy areas that we can work on together to improve our great state.

We understand that your schedule as the new governor of Wisconsin will be a busy one. We are more than willing to be as flexible as we can and invite you to come to our caucus during the day either Tuesday, January 8th or Wednesday, January 9th We are happy to make other accommodations if necessary to make this caucus visit happen.

Thank you for considering this invitation. Please make my Chief of Staff, Jenny Toftness, aware of your decision at your earliest convenience at (608) 266-9171.

Respectfully,

Speaker Robin Vos 163rd Assembly District
