Republicans send letter to new governor highlighting key issues
MADISON…Representative Tyler August (R-Lake Geneva) released the following statement
regarding a letter that was sent today by Assembly Republicans to new incoming Governor Tony Evers:
“As we start the new legislative session, members of the State Assembly have reached out to incoming Governor Tony Evers in an effort to find common ground. In fact, it is our plan that the first bill we pass this session be a guarantee that Wisconsinites with pre-existing conditions cannot be denied health insurance due to a previous health condition.
It is our sincere hope that the new administration chooses to work with us to ensure Wisconsin remains on the right path. Over the past eight years, we’ve managed to implement reforms that have resulted in a healthy economy with record low unemployment and the lowest tax burden in 50 years, all while our schools remain strong and fully funded.
I look forward to working with Governor Evers on the items listed in this letter and any other common sense solutions that we can find.”
