U.S. Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner slammed congressional Dems and called on attendees to deliver President Trump a win in 2020.

He also urged those at the state GOP convention to help tip the House back into Republican control, in addition to re-electing him and the other four GOP Wisconsin House members come 2020 — a sign the 76-year-old dean of the congressional delegation will again run to represent the 5th CD.

The Menomonee Falls Republican spent much of his remarks Saturday afternoon knocking Democrats and particularly House Judiciary Committee Chair Jerry Nadler, D-NY.

“What we’re facing now from the Democrats in the House and in the Senate is absolutely disgusting,” he said. “These people hate Donald J. Trump and hatred of your political opposition is not good for democracy. What the left is doing to this president and this political system today is harmful for generations in terms of respect for our democratic process.”

Sensenbrenner, a member of the House Judiciary Committee and its past chair, also zeroed in on Nadler’s leadership of the panel, slamming Nadler as a “dictator” and someone who “thinks what he says goes.”

The committee earlier this month passed a Dem-backed resolution to find AG William Barr in contempt of Congress, an effort Sensenbrenner and the 15 other GOP committee members opposed.
