Contact: Rep. Timothy Ramthun (608) 266-9175

MADISON- State Representative Timothy Ramthun (R-Campbellsport) issued the following statement in response to the nonpartisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau announcing an increase in projected new state revenues of $753 million over the next three years:

“The fiscal responsibility of effective and smart budgeting by Wisconsin Legislative Republicans the past eight years continues to pay dividends once again. Today, the updated estimates of new state revenues show that number to be over three quarters of a billion dollars,” Rep. Ramthun stated.

He continued, “These revenues are a result of efficiencies in tax cuts, pro-business policies, and prudent spending within our means that is leading to these increased tax revenues. Our economy is booming because of these policies, and we’re seeing that reflected now.”

“It is important that we continue to govern in this fiscally responsible way and that this ‘new norm practice’ continues in Wisconsin. I look forward to applying these tax revenues back to the taxpayers in the form of continued tax reductions to sustain continued revenues, to the rainy day fund for future use(s), and paying down debt.” Ramthun added.
