Madison… Representative Jon Plumer (R-Lodi) had the honor of recognizing Amber Hahn, the Chief of the Poynette/Dekorra EMS as the 42nd District’s First Responder of the Year. On the Assembly floor, members were able to choose a first responder from their districts based on nominations from constituents. The Assembly recognized over 80 first responders including Chief Amber Hahn.

“Yesterday, the Assembly honored many worthy recipients of the First Responder of the Year Award. Chief Amber Hahn is a true leader in her community and has single handedly saved the Poynette-Dekorra EMS. Amber has worked tirelessly to acquire new tools for Poynette-Dekorra EMS and to keep their operation afloat. The Poynette/Dekorra community is lucky to have someone like Amber serving as their EMS Chief,” said Plumer.

Also, the body voted on Assembly Resolution 10, a resolution authored by Rep. Plumer which honors the public service of now-retired Madison Police Chief Mike Koval. Chief Koval served the Madison Police Department for 40 years – his entire career – with distinction. After a long career with the FBI and Madison Police Department, Chief Koval is retiring from public service.

Plumer commented, “I have always respected Chief Koval for his leadership in Madison and for committing his life’s work to public service and that is why I chose to honor him today as well. I wish Chief Koval a long, healthy, and relaxing retirement – he has earned it.”
