Rep. Adam Neylon (608) 266-5120

Madison— Yesterday, state Representative Adam Neylon (R-Pewaukee) issued the following statement after the State Assembly unanimously passed legislation to close a loophole providing tax breaks for businesses that move out of Wisconsin:

“I am proud to announce the unanimous passage of Assembly Bill 10, also known as the Moving Expenses Bill, on the Assembly Floor today. Under current law, businesses that move their operations out of state are able to deduct moving expenses from their state tax liability. This bill closes the loophole incentivizing Wisconsin businesses to move operations and jobs out of Wisconsin.

Wisconsin shouldn’t be offering businesses incentives to leave. This is common-sense bipartisan legislation, and I look forward to seeing it become law.
