Madison – Today, Representative Rick Gundrum (R-Slinger) released the following statement following the 104th Regular Floor Session that concluded Thursday afternoon. During the Assembly proceedings, members of the Assembly had the opportunity to recognize a first responder from his or her assembly district who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to serve and protect our friends and families. Representative Gundrum was humbled and grateful to present the 2019 First Responder of the Year Award to a 28-year veteran of the Slinger Fire Department:

“It was an absolute honor to present Assistant Chief Brad Schaefer of the Slinger Fire Department with the 2019 First Responder of the Year Award for the 58th Assembly District. Brad’s selfless sacrifices to our community over the past 28 years is a remarkable achievement that deserves recognition. I want to thank all of the first responders who reside in or serve the residents of the 58th District. When calamity strikes, it is brave patriots like Brad who run toward danger to save a life who we need to keep in our prayers and show gratitude for their heroism. Thank you Brad for your service, and to your wife Tracey for the time you have sacrificed away from your husband during the times when he was called on to serve. For this, we are grateful and fortunate that you both are a part of our community.”
