Madison…The Joint Committee on Finance wrapped up their work on the state’s two year budget plan and it will now be sent to the legislature for approval. Rep. Ballweg (R-Markesan) supports the WISCONSIN Budget; a budget that continues to make historic investments in our schools and infrastructure.

“The Assembly held over 200 listening sessions and received over 40,000 budget survey responses from all over the state. I am glad to see this budget achieves our priorities without raising the tax burden on Wisconsin citizens,” said Ballweg.

The WISCONSIN Budget includes the largest total investment in K-12 education, over $500 million in tax cuts, continues the UW System tuition freeze, increases funding for a variety of child and mental health services and provides increases to fix our local roads and bridges.

“I look forward to voting in favor of this budget in the coming weeks,” said Ballweg.

These reforms continue to make Wisconsin a desirable place to work and live. The budget bill will now head to the Assembly and Senate for consideration before going to Governor Evers to be signed into law.
