WASHINGTON — The National Governors Association (NGA) today announced that Kate Bukowski will serve as chief development officer of the bipartisan association of the 55 governors of states and territories.
“Kate brings top-level development experience to the table, and we’re thrilled that she is going to apply her skills and experience to support our bipartisan mission on behalf of our nation’s governors,” said NGA Executive Director Bill McBride. “A key part of NGA is our partnerships, and we look forward to Kate’s leadership in helping to strengthen the organization for the upcoming decade.”
Since March 2019, Bukowski has served as state-federal relations director for Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers. Her role includes managing relationships on behalf of the governor with the state’s bipartisan congressional delegation and the White House, as well as helping to advance Wisconsin’s interests with organizations including NGA.
In this role, Bukowski will lead fundraising and partnerships to achieve ambitious long-term financial growth for the organization. She will report to Chief Operating Officer LeAnne Wilson.
From 2013 to 2019, Bukowski worked for the Democratic Governors Association, most recently as director of corporate relations. In that capacity, she managed fundraising and relationships with more than 400 corporations and associations.
Bukowski starts at NGA Jan. 6.
