APPLETON, Wis. (January 18, 2019) – The Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce and Regional Partnership are proud to welcome Suzanne Wittman as its new Director of Talent & K-16 Relations. In this role, Wittman will implement programs and initiatives that serve our education and business needs allowing our community to prepare the next generation of talent in the Fox Cities.

Wittman brings adept economic development and workforce experience to the role. She joined the organization in this new role on January 2, 2019.

Wittman was the former executive director for the Clintonville Area Chamber of Commerce. Her work there included economic and workforce development, membership engagement and event planning.

“I was fortunate to work with our local government in the areas of business retention and expansion and played a role in the Downtown Revitalization Plan,” shared Wittman. “As a member of the planning commission, I had an opportunity to help shape the comprehensive city plan.”

She was a member of the Tourism Commission, Chairperson for the Reconsideration Committee at the Clintonville Public School District as well as on the board of directors for the Wolf River School to Work Program (Youth Apprenticeship).

Creating connections with the city and the local school district was also one of Wittman’s goals.

“When you live in a smaller community, you have a chance to engage yourself in all areas,” shared Wittman.

She spent time at the elementary school level and helped with Junior Achievement, served on the education committee to organize the 8th grade career fair and worked with area business owners to speak to juniors at the high school about the world of work, evaluated application forms and participated in mock interviews.

“I look forward to taking on this challenge and overseeing our talent and K-16 programs. As the Chamber and Regional Partnership, we understand the importance of creating initiatives that serve the business community and prepare the next generation of talent,” shared Wittman.

Having lived and worked in Appleton before, Wittman is very familiar with area and has connections with many of the businesses throughout Green Bay, the Fox Cities and Oshkosh. She is also on the economic development committee for Appleton Downtown Inc.
