FITCHBURG, Wis. — With more than 40 years’ experience caring for people in south central Wisconsin who are in the final months of life, Agrace HospiceCare now has the capability to care for patients who require additional support for their memory care needs in a safe, secure, home-like environment.

In mid-December, Agrace is opening 12 Hospice Memory Care Suites at its Madison-area campus in Fitchburg. The community is invited to tour the unit during an open house at Agrace, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, on Monday, December 9, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Fitchburg Mayor Aaron Richardson and members of the Fitchburg Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:15 p.m.

The Suites are for people who are enrolled in hospice with Agrace and choose to pay to live at the Agrace campus rather than at home. Patients with memory care needs will feel comforted by the Suites’ intentional design features, including continuous circulation paths, calming artwork, ample views of nature and access to a secure outdoor courtyard.

Any Agrace HospiceCare patient can apply to live in the Hospice Memory Care Suites. If someone is not an Agrace patient but is interested in the Hospice Memory Care Suites, they can call (608) 327-7117 to discuss hospice eligibility.

Open house and reception: Community members are invited to stop in during the open house for light refreshments and to tour the new Hospice Memory Care Suites. Agrace volunteer coordinators will be on hand to talk with anyone who would like information about volunteering in the Memory Care Suites or in any of the variety of volunteer roles Agrace has available across its service area.

Founded in 1978, Agrace is a nonprofit, community-supported health care organization dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care and support to people who are aging, ill or dying. With offices in Madison, Janesville, Baraboo and Platteville, Agrace serves nearly 1,000 patients across southern Wisconsin every day.
