MILWAUKEE – Sustainability activist Winona LaDuke is leading a grassroots charge to establish the country’s next energy economy on April 11. The UWM College of Letters & Science hosts a talk by LaDuke April 11 at the annual Dean’s Distinguished Lecture in the Humanities. Her talk, “The Next Energy Economy: Grassroots Strategies to Mitigate Global Climate Change and How We Move Ahead,” will explore some of the solar, wind and localized food production projects taking place on the White Earth reservation in northern Minnesota.
